Amanzi Olwandle “Ocean Water” directed by Timothy Hay (South Africa)
This entry to the “My Rode Reel 2020” competition won the Judges choice and is based on a true story about a Surfer (Avo) that lost his brother (Zama) to a tragic shark attack when they were young boys at their home break in Port St John’s. The ocean is the link that bonds the two in spirit.
Xolani directed by Tao Ferren (South Africa)
Xolani tells the personal story of a circus performer, and the lessons he has learnt from experiencing trauma from the most unexpected source
Moments in Time directed by Paula Zapata (South Africa)
We embarked on a journey to shoot in a hidden gem in the forest of Uilenkraalsmond, Gansbaai, a two and a half hour drive from Cape Town, South Africa. Nestled in a blanket of trees in a small wooden cabin, we challenged ourselves to shoot a piece of wonder in two days in the dreamy surrounding area. It’s safe to say that our memories of this weekend will forever stay in our hearts.
